Ten thousand years ago, you're roaming around looking for food or water and you find a treasure trove of nuts that you need to carry back to the home base, aka the cave, but your hands can only hold a limited amount. What's an ancient human to do? They couldn't rely on Tupperware ladies, info commercials or pop-up ads selling plastic ware, so they were compelled to invent a solution.
A brilliant ancient dude (Bill and Ted's expression), Einstein's or Tesla's great-grandfather, thousands of generations ago, realized this plant was the answer to one of their problems.
The gourds can hold water or any substance known to man, plus made into scoopers or ladles, cups, bowls musical instruments, art and it's edible. What more can the bottle gourd give to us--it's the Giving Tree of gourds?

The previous sentence is deceptively false. If homo sapiens still employed the same knowledge and practices our ancestors advanced, modern day humans would inhabit caves and continue to wear furs, and without our technological advances, how could people watch annoying cute cat videos?
Thank you, ancient people, for giving us the knowledge of the gourd. we salute you.
